after Olivia Snowdrop
Imagine us / sat around a fire / the three of us / with darkness nestled / between our shoulders / between the years.
Imagine aeroplane trails / above us / the impermanence of pollution / masquerading as clouds / the three of us / wishing we could float / and disappear.
Imagine us / tied together / our bloody hands / held in caress against each other’s faces / the three of us / knotted with sinew.
Imagine smoke / cigarette blue haloes / blown from mouth into mouth / the three of us / swallowing a nicotine stained past / then regurgitating the ocean.
Imagine us / as one / not three / a woman in acts / my salt flecked lips / catching and releasing / dandelions until I’m dead.
