Pink like me

I want to show you my anger:

balled up fists, pink

like your brain.

I want to unpeel my flesh

and show you all

my childhood trauma.

I want to scream and hear

the wind between the trees

call and answer me,

call me a Spring baby,

flower child,

call me pretty

and calm me.

I want to be angry:

balled up fists, pink

like candyfloss.

I want to forget how blue

your eyes look

early in the morning

but I refuse, I refuse, I refuse

to forgo anything

which is beautiful:

balled up fists, pink

like me when I was born.
