tie a ribbon around my eyes
and ask me if I could still find you
in an endless crowd of people
smile when I say yes
because I am sure this chemistry
is tangible – soft and heavy in my hands
allowing me to feel my way toward you
no matter where we are –
a silk rope looped about our wrists
pulling us ever tighter, ever closer
even in a sea of unfamiliar faces
and blindfolded darkness
