Moonlight

I’d like to tell you a story about a mermaid who swims in waters so deep you could mistake them for the midnight sky. Flecks of scales shimmer in sparkling ripples; mimicking the stars. Her eyes are blue sage and her hair changes colour depending on the direction she swims. Beneath the pale face of night, it is deep auburn with slivers of gold. Diving into bottomless darkness, it becomes an inky black, caressed by the deep. Her skin could be moonlight itself; luminous with youth as her tail shifts between pearlescent pastels and ocean blue.

I’d like to tell you a story about a mermaid so beautiful and yet so lonely, in a vast lake of life.
