The relief came in waves
first with your breathing
then with your eyes,
sweet rainbow on your lips
pastel kaleidoscope of peace
across your face.
Relief like summer rain
in humid oppression,
icy water on throbbing veins,
a cold which tightens its grip,
stationery then twists
as your heart lifts.
There is beauty, unexplained
in the way your temples sink,
jaw becomes stiff,
a faint murmur of hope
easily missed,
fallen angel dying to be kissed.
The relief came in waves
ripples in your lungs
pulses in your thumbs
glitter in your eyes,
yet I’m unable to stop time,
grab hold and say ‘you’re mine’.
Kristina, this is so perfect!

I felt pain. But a good pain. It was satisfying.

Yes. Officially in love with this. There’s too much beauty in this piece. I can’t deal.
